Chapter 1 · Planning
The roster was due on Friday.
On Thursday, it still didn’t add up.
37.5 hours for day work, 35.5 with nights or Sundays, 33.6 round the clock – and every night and holiday hour changes the sum again. Some people also work in other units, and the Working Environment Act counts all their hours together. Days off owed under the law and the agreements have to land in the roster, and flexitime balances keep moving. Then the shift plan must match every position percentage, respect wishes, competences and approved leave, be discussed with the union representative and be published on time. In spreadsheets that takes days – and mistakes surface only when someone complains or payroll doesn’t match.
SISQUAL® WFM builds rosters around contract hours, position percentages, competences and wishes, converts hours for nights and Sundays automatically, and warns you before a shift breaks a rule or triggers overtime – across every unit a person works in. And because it connects to the systems you already run, the data the roster needs arrives on its own.
Next: the day it runs ↓Chapter 2 · Operations
Your team’s shifts were perfectly set at 06:00.
By 06:40, everything had changed.
Two employees call in sick. Customer demand peaks earlier than expected. A last-minute shift change leaves an employee with less than the legally required rest between shifts. In complex operations, reality doesn’t wait for you to catch up. When team shifts no longer match operational needs, every last-minute adjustment costs time, increases labour costs or puts compliance at risk.
With SISQUAL® WFM, “Find a solution” ranks the best cover within the rules – including a colleague from another unit with the right competence and time to spare – so the gap closes before the shift starts. The right people in the right place at the right time, tailored to your rules, systems, culture and people.
Next: every hour paid right ↓Chapter 3 · Time & pay
Every hour was worked.
Was every hour paid right?
A late shift that runs past midnight into a Sunday. Overtime worked across two units. A call-out during home on-call duty. A shift swapped after the roster was locked. Each triggers different supplements, overtime rules and wage types – under the Act, the collective agreement and your local agreements – and each must be classified correctly before payroll closes. Then the wage settlement arrives, back-dated to 1 May. A sick note arrives three weeks late. A shift moves to another cost centre. Supplements, absence balances and project hours must be corrected retroactively – and sent again to payroll, finance and the budget, each in its own format. Every manual step is another chance to get someone’s pay wrong.
SISQUAL® WFM classifies every hour against your agreements, calculates wage types and recalculates past periods when rates, rules or records change. Variable pay, supplements, absences and balances flow to payroll – and hours and costs to any finance, budgeting or analytics system you use – scheduled or on demand, with a full audit trail.
